There’s this old saying, “you are judged by the company you keep”. In business or personal life, we are influenced by people we know altogether or by personal acquaintance. They are our circle of influence. As kids, we are taught by our parents and our own experience who to hang out with, in school, an in-depth interview is done preceding admission and in job interviews, employers perform background checks on candidates. The bottom line is, your circle of influence will determine much about you in terms of ethics, integrity, values, beliefs, passion and future intentions based on your personal behavior. Therefore, it is but important to think about who will be in your circle of influence.

To set up success in online home business, one needs to control his/her circle of influence. It is all about evolving and nurturing one’s self into learning. During the course of learning, a leader learns to become considerate, compassionate and tolerant towards people and situations. Team building activities organized by a leader are meant to improve the performance of the team. Strong leadership skills turn obstacles into opportunities, undertake conflict with employees and develop strong relationship with management.

A leader’s best way to lead is by example. Consistency and continuous performance completes his work accountability. Work honed the leader through various experiences to enhance strong leadership skills. It is through hard work that a leader realizes that there is no limit of doing. To give more of what is expected. Nevertheless, to work just for money or power is not a worthwhile legacy to leave behind. Beyond strong leadership skills, is the ability to manage your time equally, to both work and family. Consider the following leaders skills as fundamental traits of what makes a leader:

A leader listens. It’s of foremost importance. Listening skills helps you resolve problems efficiently and empowers you to do things differently. However, think about it, how can you listen if you yourself do not listen to your family begging for a little bit of your time? Learn to distribute time evenly and it will make your career flourish because giving value to family commitments is the same as giving value to workplace commitments. Communicating effectively and collaborating with a group of individuals is very important. Hearing everyone’s voice within the group is what makes a good working environment.

Delegate. Most people today hoard knowledge. To develop strong leadership skills, a good leader must understand that delegation is necessary. Overburdening one’s Self with workload will not empower you nor will it be beneficial to anybody. Disorganization breeds nothing but mess, less productivity for everybody. Delegate and create a sense of responsibility among your team, this kind of motivation will make them deliver in the best possible manner.

Set goals and plan how to reach it. Cultivating strong leadership skills makes it a habit to set goals as they are needed to complete projects successfully and on time. Goals should be set realistically to inspire and teach to accomplish more. A leader isn’t bogged down into details, but rather uses high-level plans to keep everyone in their toes toward achieving a goal.

To be responsible is believed to be having strong leadership skills. As a leader, responsibility comprises of the development and backlog of your enterprise.  Learn to do the best to make the organization develop to its full capacity. In business, being responsible is widening your market and increase sales, and improving working conditions for more profit. Do not let personal interests interfere with organizational goals.

Learn to develop trust. It is another strong leadership skill, yet the most difficult to achieve. In order to gain trust, give trust first. Be open and honest in discussing policies, conflicting situations and value ideas through active follow-ups. Handle issues fairly to show integrity. Constantly ask for feedbacks and give constructive comments to start up daily communications and help them grow personally.

These are but a few traits to develop strong leadership skills, however, if you really want to achieve success in whatever it is you want to achieve, do not limit these traits to your business. Carry them with you through your personal and family life. Creating a legacy is beautiful, but ask if what you’ve worked hard for is truly worth it. Be a leader at work, be a leader at home. Lead by example.

Go-Giver’s 1st Law – The Law Of Value

 The Law of Value is the 1^st law of Stratospheric Success from the inspiring book, The Go-Giver. This modern day business parable cites five laws, which we will be reviewing individually. Let us take on the first law. The Law of Value states, “Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value that you take in payment.” Giving is the fore bearing factor to that amount of value provided with the relation to the amount received in payment. However, true value of giving is providing value without expecting or measuring something rather anything in return. How does this relate to online home business opportunity?

Many marketing list promise value in the form of knowledge, instead they pound you with sales pitches on purchasing or joining their business. This bait concept has been around for quite a long time now. Sure, it does give multitude sales, but is it a good practice? The strategy does get the attention of potential customers, but does it build relationship? Think about marketing online home business by providing value to develop relationships. This way your potentials will stay with you until they are ready to avail of what you have to offer. The Law of Value is working in giving your customers desire to be enriched and the appreciativeness of having to do business with you. On the other hand your reward is that you were able to provide them something of value that no other product or service could provide, a value that is genuine to you that you want to share with your customers.

The Law of Value declares that true worth is that value you provided besides from what you are paid for. If everyone else gives their Self for a day’s work, but you gave more, doesn’t that make you more valuable? However, if you’re giving more to expect something in return, for instance, to be ahead or get attention, then you’re giving for the wrong reasons. The Law of Value teaches us to give because it is the right thing to do and not giving more just to be noticed. The challenge is for you to exceed an individual’s expectation but keeping a mum about it. Give – just because. Give even if no one notices, it is how you feel in giving that is important, rather than making it as a basis of success by others, make it your own success.

In the book, it is told that “All the great fortunes in the world have been created by men and women who had greater passion for what they were giving – their product, service or idea – than what they were getting”. The Law of Value can make you successful in business if you go beyond everyone’s expectation. Find out what your customers place high values on, it doesn’t have to be elaborate, confusing or expensive. Don’t be afraid to give something valuable such as a simple gesture, a listening ear, a pinch of knowledge, a solution to their problem. You might think this is not overwhelming but to them it will create a lasting impression. When we give put welfare first in mind, consider with respect to worth, excellence, usefulness or importance. The Law of Value tells us that as long as you are living your passion in what you are giving, what you are emitting from the inside will determine what is attracted to you. In order to attract good things in your life, you need to be feeling good most of the time. Practice The Law of Value and reap its astounding benefits.

Social Photo Sharing With Pinterest

 Now what do we have here? A social photo sharing where one “pins” images from the web and categorizes it by collections or boards? Sounds interesting, what is it? It’s Pinterest, a virtual pinboard similar to an interactive, shareable scrapbook. Introduced in 2009, the site allows users to create boards and do social photo sharing of whatever interest one might have.

Akin to other social networks, a user can follow either users, share contents, tags and even make comments. You can also get real-time updates and social photo sharing can easily be made even on Facebook and Twitter.

Pinterest stands out among other major social networks because majority of people use it to find inspiration in areas like hosting a party, weddings, a house or room renovation, or even recipes for cooking enthusiasts. Pinterest guides people in their buying decisions through source links to make a purchase.

How does social photo sharing work in Pinterest

Two of the most coerced elements of social media are visual content and sharing. In Pinterest, these two are managed by social photo sharing. Pins or images are organized by topic, called boards that can be renamed or deleted depending on the user’s interest. There is an option to follow all of other users boards or select a certain board to follow. If you already have a Facebook or Twitter account it will make it easier to find all your contacts and friends who are using Pinterest.

Repins in the Pinterest world is social photo sharing images pinned by a user you followed or found while browsing Pinterest. It gives credit to the user who first pinned the image. When repinning something it gives you the option to edit or add descriptions. Repinned items retain its source links no matter how many times the pin is shared.  You can also add a “Pin It” button into your browser (currently available in Chrome only) for easy pinning of things you chance upon the internet. Everytime you pin something, social photo sharing can be done on Twitter and Facebook.

Benefits of social photo sharing for brands

• Being visible – for smaller businesses tight on the budget or resources in terms of search results, Pinterest can quite level the field. It helps people in finding new products or brands that people would not normally come across when plugging keywords into search engines. Social photo sharing reveals similarities in interests, by checking out their pin boards one can probably find the product he is looking for. It also allows a variety of choices since results change as new pins are updated.

• Creating links – a link is pulled out together with the image every time someone pins from your site. The chance for an image to be pinned is multiplied building up a Healthy amount of backlinks. It is a natural place to promote small business only, do so with caution. Followers would not want a board spammed with nothing but your own products. Self-promotion is allowed just do it moderately to stay in the good graces of the community.

• Advocacy on brands – if you get people to like your products not only they will pin your stuff but might dedicate an entire pin board promoting your brand. The key is finding what your followers like.

 So far, this community is appropriate for retail, lifestyle, food, design, home décor, publishers and travel brands. A brand with appealing visual contents with something to offer for the community is eligible for social photo sharing. However, consider adding value to the community to make your business unique. It’s amazing how well it works.
