I was lucky, or was it luck? A few of years back, I lost a ton of money, “well it was a ton to me” in the stock market. So with no money, but with a desire to find financial freedom. I decided, that maybe I should look for a way to make money online or some kind of online home business. So I surfed, looked and found. Boy did I find. You look! Hundreds, thousands no I’m sure it’s in the millions of different opportunities. So now what do I do?

Look here it is.

What are we looking to do? Yes, start a business, a home business. In my case an online home business. Now let me remind you, that it this point I did not know how to receive or accept an email. All I knew how to do was surf the internet. Nevertheless I was determined.

Again,

what are we looking to do? And here is another question. Have you ever asked a very successful entrepreneur, what is it that he or she did to accomplish their level of success? If you can’t find an entrepreneur to ask in person, I suggest find a biography of one and read it. I am very sure that no matter what, they won’t say; I pushed a button and I got rich. I just haven’t met one yet and I don’t think I ever will. Do many people try to make you believe that that’s what you can do? Yes, So watch out.

Back to the rich entrepreneur,

I am very sure the answer was WORK, I am also very sure that this person works just as hard now “after his/her success” as they did when they started. And this is what I’m getting at is.

You have to work as hard as, or harder than a wealthy entrepreneur from the moment that you made that decision to begin any type of business. This is my point. When I decided to work online, I started to work like an entrepreneur from that point on. As I did when I started to study and invest in the stock market. And even though I lost at that moment, some money. I still did not fail. Because I am still working with the same passion and if not the same, it’s more.

So before you sign up

or pay for any kind of business opportunity. Work, work hard at finding out the truths about the business you are looking into. That is your first job, work harder at this than you have at anything in your life. Don’t rush, ask questions talk to real people one on one. Don’t allow yourself to be sold by any sweet talking business person. Study some sales techniques yourself this way you know. Also remember that just because somebody is trying to sell you, doesn’t mean it’s not worth looking into further. Because everything is sold, good or bad. Just make sure you don’t buy the bad.

Now, going back to my first question. Was it luck? I don’t think so. If it had gone the other way and I was involved on some kind of work at home business that didn’t work, it wouldn’t have been bad luck. It would have been me being lazy and not putting in the work. Last question, what are you going to do? Work or be lazy. Better yet, succeed or fail.

This is what’s going on with this whole starting a small business or making money from home thing. Have you ever been so focused on one thing that you didn’t see another? Perfect example; the other morning I was driving down main street heading east. The sun glare was so strong that that was all I could focus on. All of a sudden, thump I had run something over. Thank god it was an animal that had been run over earlier, but who likes to get road kill guts all over the tires and the bottom of the car? The point is, that I was so blinded by the light that I could not see what was ahead.

This is exactly what happens with a home business, network marketing and internet marketing. We get blinded by the light.

What’s the source of this blinding light? The media, we here it all the time.

 Get up at four in the morning and turn on the T.V. this has been going on for as long as I can remember. And the color of this light is green; oh yes the promise to make a ton of money right from the comfort of your home.

· How about the radio? Now we have satellite. I hear it more than ever. They offer you everything, access to a million products and you don’t have to stock a single item. All you have to do is contact Bla, Bla, Bla @ 1-800-sit-home.

· And of course your friend and mine, the internet. Just go to your browser and type in, small business or online home business ideas, and then go to any of the links. Here the first thing you see is a mansion, exotic cars and somebody standing there with a hundred, hundreds in their hands or even better yet. Some dude in his bathing suit sitting on the beach with a laptop.

What else do they use to blind us?

· Time. Have you ever heard this one before? All in just 20 minutes a day.

· Ease. How about this one? And you don’t have to do a thing we do all the work for you.

· Comfort. Here’s a new one. My commute to my job is only 30 seconds.

· Freedom. Everybody loves this one. I walked into my job and fired my boss!

· Fun. Now we all like to have some fun. I went on 6 cruises in 6 months.

· Family. This one is hitting below the belt. Now I can spend all of the time I want with my kids.

This is a science; these people know where our buttons are and when to push them. Just think about it. You’re up all night tossing, turning stressing over the bills. All of a sudden you here, this program has changed my life and it can do the same for you. Just call 1-866-God-Sign. So what do you think? Wow, this must be a sign. Wrong! They know.

What I’m getting at, is look past all of the glamour and the hype. Any type of business be it at home, out in the field or in a shop can give you all of the above. However, you have to pay your dues. Yes, some are easier than others and many do fail.

Put on your shades, don’t just jump before you leap, ask questions put in the work, effort, time and research then do it again. Because I know, that you know as well as I know. That if it’s too good to be true. It probably is.
